Visiting the Salzburg Cathedral is an absolute must for most Salzburg visitors. This baroque building had two medieval predecessors, before Prince-archbishop Markus Sittikus laid the foundation to the baroque Cathedral in 1614. Today this beautiful building is treasured and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
